Niugini Assurance appoints head of insurance operations
Papua New Guinea's own insurance company expands its team.
The Niugini Assurance Group Ltd is our home-grown insurance company in Papua New Guinea.
In February 2020, Niugini Assurance announced the appointment of Mr Opi Loi to its insurance leadership team, as Head of Operations.
Mr Loi is responsible for the operations management of the company, which includes the teams for underwriting, claims and broker services.
Opi Loi has more than 30-years of experience in the insurance industry, working with companies such as Aon, Heath Lambert, Fortis Limited and Pacific MMI.
He has held senior positions in claims, underwriting, broking, account management and general management roles.
Majoring in marketing and insurance, Opi Loi holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia.
He is a Fellow of ANZIIF with CIP status, and he is a member of the PNG Institute of Directors.
Opi Loi brings a deep connection with the people of Papua New Guinea to his role as head of operations at Niugini Insurance.
Reflecting on his insurance career in PNG, Opi said, "Insurance plays a vital role in society.
"Through their policies, everyone in the community of policy-holders can help each other get back on track.
Life has its twists and turns, but our insurance policies help us to recover and go forward in life.
